I'm going to start by saying I am not a morning person at all; I am definitely a night owl. So getting up and started with my day is not an easy thing at all especially when I have to be up early for work. It's just not fun at all and not something I enjoy. So if you are someone who has to wake up early like me or just don't like mornings like me here are a few tips to hopefully make your mornings a little easier.
Number one starts with the night before and that is going to bed earlier even if you are a night owl like me. So I usually am up late reading because I love to read. It isn't a bad thing just when I start reading at night I kinda lose track of time. So, I set a goal time for myself to be in bed and ready to go to sleep. I get ready for bed an hour to two hours before so I have time to read or just be on my phone. I am the person to set multiple alarms for the morning which sometimes I hear and sometimes I don't. Which is why I set multiple of themes to be sure I don't hit the snooze button too much.
Number two is one I think a lot of people already do and that is pick your outfit the night before. Seriously if you have somewhere to be in morning stressing about what to wear is going to take up a lot of time. I work as a nanny so my outfits are usually just some shorts and a comfy shirt so I can stay nice and cool in this lovely Florida heat we have been having recently as it definitely feels like Summer here. Seriously though, if you do pick your outfit the night before or at least have an idea of what you want to wear it will make your mornings a lot smoother.
Number three is something that I do that actually saves me time in the morning. That is I do my hair the night before if I wash it because I do not was my hair everyday. I don't have a huge amount of time from when I wake up to the time I have to walk out the door to do my hair. So to help my self out and not have my hair look like a poodle I usually blow dry and curl it the night before. After I curl it though I do not run my fingers through the curls like I would if I was doing my hair before going out somewhere. I leave them nice and tight then sleep on them. When I get up in the morning I go through them with my fingers or comb and ta da no poodle hair. I know not everyone's hair is the same and this will not work for everyone but even just blow drying your hair the night before will take some time off your morning routine.
Number four is listen to music or watch a youtube video. I uasually do this while I am getting ready in the morning. It helps my brain wake up a little more and gets me moving. Sometimes I even wake up with a song stuck in my head and that is the song I will have to listen to while I am getting ready. But I feel like besides my coffee this is a good way to get me moving and started with my morning.
Number five, I'm not much of a breakfast person first thing in the morning. It takes a little time before I get hungry and realize I should eat something. I know that sometimes we're in a rush to get out the door that we don't really think about breakfast or we just say we're not hungry because we don't have time. So here's a little tip for breakfast if you want something light like a smoothie or some fruit. Make it the night before and stick it in your fridge to chill until your ready to go in the morning. If you want something a little more filling a bagel is a good choice pretty easy and quick to make too. But if you want something like eggs or french toast I'm going to tell you to wake up a lot earlier to do that.
So here are my five tips for early mornings that I have used more than once for my self. Like I said before I am a night owl so mornings are not fun for me at all. So if you are like me a night owl or you just struggle to get going in the morning I hope you found these helpful or useful and if you haven't already try them out your self.
