On August 5, 2018 our puppy of fifteen years Mitzi passed away who was the third Mitzi in our family. Now on September 3, 2018 I would like to introduce to you Faith Mitzi. Yes Mitzi is her middle name because Mitzi is family name for dogs in out family.
We honestly did not know if we were going to find another dog as great as Mitzi. We had fifteen amazing years with her so she was our baby and family. So it was very hard when she passed but we knew it was coming because again she was fifteen. We knew before she was gone that we wanted a puppy but felt Mitzi had deserved to go in piece with out a puppy jumping on her. So we waited everyday it was very weird walking around the house and not seeing her. But as August came to an end and September began. We found little Faith on September 1, 2018 well actually my dad found her and with how cute she is I'll let him have this one.
The breeder we actually found her from lives in North Carolina which where we live in Florida is a six hour drive. Which isn't to bad and we knew by looking at the photo of Faith that she was perfect. With out a doubt she had to be ours my dad had talked to the breeder found out the price she was asking for her. Which ended up being exactly what my dad wanted to pay for a puppy so that helped a lot.
Little Faith is the tiniest little dachshund I've ever seen at 10 weeks old. We believe she is about 3 to 4 pounds we haven't gotten her to vet yet so we do not know her exact weight. But yes it is completely fine and healthy for a dachshund to weigh so little. Her parents who we also got to meet were small as well which would be why Faith is. Dachshunds are the type of dogs you really do not not want to be heavy or over weight. Because it will cause damage to there knees and back. So having a dachshund small like she is at her age. Helps us maintain her weight and her happy and healthy for many years to come.
The minute I had Faith in my arms I knew it was meant to be she looked at me with her big brown eyes and she had me. We have only had her for three days now and she has made her way in to our hearts with her bouncy playful energy and cuddly nature. I know we will be making many new memories with out new baby. But there is no way in the world we could ever forget about our Mitzi and the memories we made with her. She was my best friend for fifteen years and she will always be in my heart. But now it's time for a new chapter in our lives with a bouncing energetic ball of joy. I had so many amazing memories with Mitzi and I can't wait to make more with little Faith.
